Housing is a Human Right

Housing is a Human Right

Every Lansing resident deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. I will fight for housing justice—supporting policies that protect tenants, prevent displacement, and increase access to affordable and dignified housing throughout our city. This includes advocating for the development of truly affordable housing that meets the needs of low- and moderate-income residents, prioritizing community-led development, and ensuring that public resources support long-term affordability—not just market-rate projects.

I will push us as a City Council to explore all available options to meet our housing needs, including community land trusts, housing cooperatives, inclusionary zoning policies, public-private partnerships, and the strategic use of city-owned land. Lansing must grow in a way that puts people before profit and keeps our communities whole.
