Community Safety Through Care and Economic Justice
As a City Councilmember, I will work to make smart, people-centered investments that support both public safety and economic opportunity. I believe that real safety comes from stable housing, good jobs, accessible mental health care, and well-resourced neighborhoods.
City Council has the power to shape the city’s budget, and I will advocate for funding that supports community-based safety strategies, such as violence interruption programs, mental health crisis response teams, and youth outreach initiatives. I will also support investments in job training, small business support, and local hiring practices that connect residents—especially youth and returning citizens—to stable, living-wage employment.
By aligning our city’s resources with the needs of our communities, we can address the root causes of harm, create economic pathways, and build a Lansing where every resident feels safe, valued, and empowered.
